What I listen to on the regular
A few people have asked me to put together a list of resources so they can learn more about alternative and natural medicine. So much of our health and wellness can be addressed with diet vs. pharmaceuticals, but it takes time to synthesize the information and examine the underlying belief that "only doctors and medical professionals have the answers."
The truth is, you're the only person who knows how you feel, and whether something is fundamentally helping or hurting you on your journey to vitality. The number of new diseases, illnesses and mood disorders is growing far faster than the medical field can keep up, and so much of this growth is due to the exponential growth in metabolism related issues. Learning to take health matters into your own hands begins with understanding how the body works and how it uses nutrients, minerals, vitamins, water, etc. to maintain homeostasis.
I love the following podcasts because they are digestible in terms of content, duration, and frequency in which they add fresh material and new episodes. Each of these shows breaks down the science in ways that everyone can relate to and understand without needing a medical degree or PhD. Many of the hosts and guests share their personal stories, and most of the shows include a rich set of resources and links in their episode notes where you can learn more about the topics.
I have also included a few shows related to neuro-diversity and ADHD that have helped me to better understand how my brain functions. These shows offer practical guidance, tips and useful tricks for working with my HSP and ADHD. (Best of all, they are short and sweet so my mind doesn't wander.)
Happy Listening!
