Bio

Erin Deardorff is the award-winning photographer behind Saving Memories by Making Memories. Her work focuses on capturing meaningful moments and helping others connect more deeply with their experiences through photography and mindful observation. 

 

A picture is worth a thousand words as they say and I found sharing life’s experiences was far more enriching through a lens than a pen or a brush. What started as a blog to share my training and completion of a charity bike ride led to a profound passion for capturing meaningful snippets of my life. I know each action-packed or serene moment is fleeting, and I want to ensure the pause between shutter clicks is never lost.

This series invites you to slow down, reconnect, and experience the world around you in a more intentional and meaningful way—using photography as a tool for mindfulness. Through four guided sessions, you’ll explore how to:

  • Notice light, shadow, and emotional contrast

Each session combines simple mindfulness practices with gentle photography prompts, making it accessible to anyone—no photography experience required. A phone camera is more than enough.  This is not about taking perfect photos.
