In this 3-hour ONLINE workshop we'll cover the practices Ayurveda recommends for the spring season. We'll also discuss the upcoming Spring Cleanse (April 1-21, 2024) in more detail. Prepare the body to shed the sluggishness of winter by learning about Ayurvedic practices common in the Spring. Many people experience depression, lethargy, lack of motivation, and a general dull, heavy feeling as they approach the end of February and move into March. To balance the accumulated weight and heaviness brought on during Winter's fat storage, we recommend more invigorating, heat producing yoga and foods. The move from Winter to Spring is a very challenging time for the body, and one of the most common times of the year to experience hay fever, allergies, congestion, and post nasal drip. The transition from fat storing to fat burning requires a lot of energy, and when the gut biome is compromised, the body's immune system has a much harder time of fighting off illness. During this workshop will offer practical guidance on how to move into Spring, the time of growth and awakening, with ease. You'll learn practices for yoga and meditation, breathwork, cooking for the season, and more. We'll also talk about why Ayurveda recommends the springtime for a deep liver detoxifying cleanse. Class will consist of short lectures and active participation. Wear something comfortable and bring a yoga mat, bolster, blocks, and strap to class.
